Switchblade Collecting: Get What You Enjoy

There certainly so many varieties of great knives to collect. If you are new to collecting, it is about finding what you like above all else. Some people will say only buy knives that are in perfect condition. Others will say collect ones with the most desirable stamps. That is fine, but most important are having the ones that enjoy the most.

One of my favorite knives that I have is an 11 inch Italian. It was made in the 70s and has some transitional elements. It could be regarded as a late transitional.

It’s only stamp is INOX. It is not a Latama, Coricama or Mauro Mario.

It did not live in a sock drawer and doesn’t look like it was built the day before yesterday. It has a few scuffs on the scales and scratches on the locking tab, etc. I like minty knives as much as anyone but I appreciate a knife that shows some age just as much.

It does however fire nice and strong. It locks up tight as a drum. The tuxedo style scales are beautiful and one of my favorite styles. This a well functioning old warrior which I am completely happy with. One of the favorite knives in my collection and will always be.
